Terms of Service
Access is limited and invitation-only. The software is provided as-is, without warranties. These terms are plain-language — read them before you use Cue.
Cue is a private beta. Use it, but don't redistribute it or use it to build competing products. You're responsible for recording consent with your meeting participants. We provide Cue as-is — no warranties, no SLA. Your data stays on your machine; see the Privacy Policy for details.
Effective June 10, 2026 · Version 1.0
Cue is currently in a private, non-public beta. Access is granted by invitation only. By using Cue, you acknowledge that:
Beta access does not create any entitlement to continued use, a future release, or any commercial version of the product.
You may use Cue for your own internal purposes during the beta period. You may not:
Cue records meeting audio on your device. You are solely responsible for obtaining all legally required consent from your meeting participants before recording.
Recording laws vary by jurisdiction. Many jurisdictions require the consent of all parties being recorded. By using Cue to record a meeting, you represent and warrant that you have obtained any required consent and that your recording complies with all applicable laws.
This is your responsibility, not ours. WillowTree accepts no liability for your failure to obtain recording consent or for any violation of recording laws arising from your use of Cue.
Cue is built local-first. Audio and transcripts are processed and stored on your device. The only data that leaves your machine is what you explicitly authorize — AI queries to your configured provider, and read-only access to any calendar or knowledge base sources you connect.
Our Privacy Policy describes exactly what is stored, what is transmitted, and to whom. It forms part of these Terms and you should read it before using Cue.
By using Cue, you acknowledge that AI queries may include meeting transcript excerpts and that those excerpts will be processed by your chosen AI provider under their own terms and privacy policies.
Cue and all associated software, designs, and documentation are the property of WillowTree, a TELUS Digital company. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in Cue.
The Cue source code is made available under an open-source license at github.com/willowtreeapps/cue-notetaker. Your use of the source code is governed by the license in that repository. These Terms of Service govern your use of Cue as a deployed application.
Cue is provided "as is" and "as available," without any warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WillowTree disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that Cue will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected. You use Cue at your own risk.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WillowTree and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of Cue, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
In no event will WillowTree's total liability to you for all claims arising from or related to these Terms or your use of Cue exceed fifty US dollars (USD $50).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so the above limitations may not apply to you.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and notify active beta participants via release notes or in-app communication. Continued use of Cue after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
